Refreshing the online presence for Sister Bay’s newest waterfront restaurant, this project involved creating a clean, on-brand temporary landing page that reflects the energy of The Cleat while setting the stage for a future full-site launch.

When The Cleat opened in Sister Bay in March 2025, the team needed a quick but thoughtful web presence to welcome guests and reflect the restaurant’s casual, coastal charm. With a fast timeline and a launch already underway, ZFMK Creative stepped in to finish building a stylish, functional one-page site to serve as a digital dock while the full website is under development
.

Challenges and Objectives

The goal was to create a landing page that could do a lot with a little:

  • Communicate the restaurant’s personality and location

  • Provide essential info (menus, hours, contact)

  • Feel cohesive with the brand’s visual identity

  • Leave room for growth as The Cleat evolves

Creative Approach

Working with a combination of new content and placeholder material for the future, we introduced a clean visual hierarchy and welcoming copy. The site features original photography from xoME Studio and ZFMK Creative, paired with simple typography, nautical touches, and just enough flair to echo the restaurant’s dockside vibe.

Key Highlights:

  • Headline and intro copy that captures the laid-back, vacation-forward tone

  • Menu previews and CTAs to drive foot traffic

  • Gift card and hiring sections with subtle nautical puns

  • Clear pathways for future expansion into a more dynamic site

What’s Next

The current site is only the beginning. ZFMK Creative is working closely with The Cleat team to design a new website on Squarespace that will include:

  • Online ordering functionality

  • Seasonal menu updates

  • A richer showcase of the food and team
